  • Establishment of a forum for information exchanges and with it of a bigger circle of enthusiasts & engaged for nature conservation in Kyrgyzstan.

  • To give everyone the possibility to publish own photos and observations for the interested public and herewith the support of a data bank establishment.

  • Establishment of a data bank as a basis for designing distribution maps and analysis of population sizes. Every support, assistance and advice is welcome for this !

 Construction of the web page

The web page "wildlife.kg" gives an overview about the actual vertebrate fauna of Kyrgyzstan – state April, 2010. Basis of the present systematic check-list are more than ten-years field work as well as intensive search of the available literature. The animals are filed according to their systematic allocation in the classes (pages). While clicking in the upper column , a systematic list of all Kyrgyz animals, belongs to the group, appears together with small photos on the right side. Every photo is standing for a "specie page" to which you come by clicking the name or the photo. On the "specie page" you'll find additional information about biology & distribution in KG as well as more & better photos, where we have.
A complete overview of all existing "specie pages" you get in the column "Photo gallery". If you does not know the affiliation of a specie to a group, you can find the specie via "Search".
At the moment we have designed "specie pages" only where we dispose of own photos from Kyrgyzstan. In spite of a great worldwide picture offer we come along to the principle to use almost excluding photo which have been taken within Kyrgyzstan. An important reason for this is, for example, that many migration birds never to be seen in her breeding dress in Kyrgyzstan and would be never recognized, therefore, by interested laymen. Many animal species incline to local variations which we want to consider herewith.

 Use the information and references

Our web page can be used by all enthusiasts with pleasure as a source of information. The texts and pictures are available particularly for teachers and students. By using pictures for scientific publications / master works / dissertations we ask for previous written approval and a suitable reference :
